Multikids Foundation was launched in 2015 at the British Council, Accra, Ghana.
To support children in Ghana with disabilities or special needs who are in threat of abandonment, incarceration or death. To enable children with disabilities to achieve learning and wellbeing in an inclusive environment by providing therapies and specialist educational support at school, at home and in the community.
Goals and Objectives
a) Multikids Foundation has created a family support service for children with special educational needs and/or disability, by running a weekly therapy clinic. The Community Clinic provides low cost therapy and assessment services. Our future vision is to also establish an outreach community based rehabilitation service for children living at home with their families. b) Multikids Foundation supports families of children with Cerebral Palsy in particular, by offering a respite care programme. This programme is aimed at supporting children in threat of abandonment and/or death. This programme is new and we are in the process of setting it up.
c) Multikids Foundation seeks to set up a Sanctuary called 'Butterfly House', to provide lifelong care and therapy for children who have been abandoned and are currently living in or incarcerated in, inappropriate places.
c). Multikids Foundation supports workshops, forums and advocacy of inclusive education in partnership with Ghana-based charities, disabled peoples organisations, and government special schools.
